What is the Tozi pass?

Tozi pass is a guard pass technique used from the top position in closed guard in Jiu-jitsu.

Tozi is a nickname for jiujitero Marco Barbosa, who developed and popularized this technique.
It is also known as the São Paulo pass or the Wilson pass.

Tozi Pass 1

1. Press down the bicep and rotate your body to crush the opponent.
2. Move the arm that you pressed the bicep to the opposite side of opponent's neck and apply pressure with you elbow
3. Control opponent's leg with your hand and press down with you shin.
4. Lift your other leg and make the butterfly mount

Tozi Pass 2

1. Pass on of opponent's hand behind the back by controlling a wrist (or using the grabbed wrist)
2. Grab with the other hand from behind the back.
3. Switch your legs to open the closed guard.
4. Press a leg down with your hand and pass the leg.
5. Pass the remaining leg and make side control position.
